Michaela Karis grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, along with three younger siblings and five dogs. She spent her childhood writing stories and shooting films with her friends, and now works in the themed entertainment industry, helping to create immersive experiences for guests around the world.

Michaela studied Comparative Literature at Princeton University, graduating summa cum laude in 2014, and earned her master's in Learning, Design and Technology at Stanford University in 2015.
